Buckley Labour Branch members as well as the Buckley Labour Town Councillors are deeply concerned about the proposals to close HRC at Buckley and have also received concerns from Buckley Residents. Buckley Town Mayor Andy Williams said ‘This site is so busy, while we have been discussing the issues over 40 vehicles have visited the centre, it is so important to keep this vital amenity open we will keep fighting’.

They support Cllr David Evans proposal for a new super site in Buckley and Oakenholt and the retention of Greenfield and Sandycroft. This will now go back to the cabinet and officers to investigate the possibility and financial implications.

Deputy Chair of Environmental Overview & Scrutiny Committee Labour County Councillor David Evans said;
“Buckley needs a Household Recycling Centre and if the existing site can be increased and made into a larger all encompassing recycling centre then that would be great. If not then a new site in the Buckley area should be looked into. This needs a local solution to a national issue. ”
